John Stanley "Jack" Krehely

North Augusta, SC – Mr. John Stanley “Jack” Krehely, 81, entered into rest March 21, 2026. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday morning, March 28, at 10 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel with Deacon Robert Hookness officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. A private interment will take place at a later date in Our Lady of Peace Columbarium. Jack was born December 13, 1944, to the late Michael Krehely and Blanche Katilius Krehely. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he has made North Augusta his home since 1992, when he came to town with Westinghouse to work at the Savannah River Site. Jack was a man with an incredible work ethic, having been employed for a total of 56 years, the last 32 of which were at the Savannah River Site, prior to his retirement in 2024. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and a principled man with a strong character. Jack was a proud patriot and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved his country and was a pragmatic, traditional conservative. Jack was large in stature and had a subtle way of commanding respect, while treating others with dignity and compassion. He was gregarious, believed strongly in fellowship and had a servant’s heart. Jack generously gave of himself, often supporting the Light of Life Mission, Goodwill, and other charities. He was likable, known for his vivacious personality and contagious laugh. Jack was health conscious throughout his life, working out regularly and he had a passion for biking. He enjoyed cooking and appreciated great cuisine. Jack adored his pets, especially his dogs Fiona and Finley (AKA Fredo) and was a car enthusiast, owning his favorite 1994 Corvette and Chevrolet Avalanche truck. Jack’s greatest joy in life was his family. He valued his family name and his legacy, teaching his family the importance of living an honorable life. Jack made every effort to support his children and celebrate their accomplishments. He loved and treated his daughter-in-law, Cindy, like his own child. Jack will be fondly remembered as a great man and a wonderful husband and father. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his sweetheart of 63 years and wife of 58 years, Joanne M. Krehely; his children, Michael Krehely and Dominick John Krehely (Cindy), all of North Augusta, SC. Memorial donations may be made to YMCA or the American Cancer Society.
